Pizza is one of my most beloved game day indulgences and salad is my go-to for my daily quota of greens and veggies. But why not indulge while getting your daily nutrients?

We promise this doesn’t taste like health food. It’s delicious and is another awesome March Madness-inspired game day finger food that can be enjoyed by everyone.


Pizza Dough

  • 1 and 2/3 cups water
  • 2 teaspoons active dry or instant yeast (1 packet)
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • Marinara sauce, to taste (careful not to use too much or your pizza will get soggy)
  • Mozzarella cheese, to taste (or whatever cheese you prefer)
  • Whatever vegetables you like (i.e. sliced onions, kale, sliced bell peppers, etc.)


  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Mix the water and yeast together in the bowl of a stand-up mixer (with a dough hook) and let stand for a few minutes until all the yeast has dissolved.
  3. Stir the oil into the mixture and then add the flour and salt. Mix well using a spatula.
  4. Turn the mixer on low for 5 minutes. (If you do not have a stand-up mixer, you can also just knead the dough by hand on a countertop covered in flour for about 6 to 8 minutes). You know the dough is ready when it can form a smooth ball that will spring back slowly when poked.
  5. Cut your dough into four squares.
  6. Grease a baking pan with baking spray. Place the four dough sections in the pan and then turn them over so they are coated in the in baking spray. Cover the pan with a damp kitchen towel and let the dough rise at room temperature for about an hour and a half, until the dough has about doubled in size.
  7. To make a pizza, use a rolling pin or simply knead the dough out thin (about half an inch thick) on a countertop. Top with marinara sauce, cheese, and whatever vegetables you choose to use.
  8. Bake at 400 degrees until the dough is cooked, about 20 minutes. Serve!
