Surf n' Turf Burger

Hooper might have thought differently if he was looking into the glistening, white eyes of this beaut. Seared scallops, bacon chutney, and of course a perfectly grilled burger patty, will satisfy the biggest of appetites—whether on land or at sea.


  • 3 large scallops

  • Pinch of sugar

  • Pinch of salt & pepper

  • 6 oz. burger patty

  • 3 oz. of bacon chutney

  • 1 buttered and toasted brioche bun


  1. Sprinkle sugar, salt and pepper on the scallops, to taste.

  2. Sear the seasoned scallops in a frying pan for 45 seconds per side over high heat.

  3. Grill the burger to desired doneness.

  4. Place the burger patty on the bottom bun, top with the bacon chutney and then the seared scallops. Serve!


To make the bacon chutney, add ½ pound of uncooked minced bacon into a skillet with 1 large minced onion, 2 tbsp of butter and a 8 oz of bourbon. Mix and simmer over medium low for 20 minutes.
