Mango Caipirinha

We originally came up with this recipe during the excitement of the Rio Summer Olympic Games. It's a perfect summery spin on Brazil's most famous cocktail.

For those of you unfamiliar with this drink, the caipirinha is the national cocktail of Brazil and it typically features three ingredients: cachaça (the booze), lime and brown sugar.

  • 1/4 cup Cachaça

  • Half a lime, cut into quarters (wedges)

  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar

  • 1/2 oz. of a mango, puréed*

  • Ice

If you're a big fan of mango, you can up the amount to 1/2 of a mango per cocktail.

  1. Combine the lime and sugar in the glass.

  2. Using a muddler or wooden spoon, mash the lime and sugar together.

  3. Add mango, ice, cachaca and stir together.

  4. Garnish with a slice of orange or lime and serve. You can also opt to add a mint garnish as well.
